I’m pretty sure that if you try someone’s nugget plug without asking, you’ll end up in jail.

I think it is referring to a brand of tobacco. A plug is a device used to use to press tobacco into sheets. And a nugget is high quality pressed tobacco in a compact form.
Well that ruins the fun. Nice work!
